It’s a marvel that you’ll love exploring, from the 9-ton gate and functioning rocking chairs carved from coral to the Polaris telescope.

Spend the Day at Zoo Miami

Whether you have young racing fans along with your pit crew or not, you’ll want to make sure you spend some time at Zoo Miami. Featuring over 700 acres, this captivating place features miles of pathways that take you through the animal exhibits. You’ll see over 2,000 animals and 375 different species, from tigers and giraffes to crocodiles and monkeys.

Treat Yourself at Knaus Berry Farm

All these activities are sure to make you hungry, so head to Knaus Berry Farm for a special treat. A legend since the 1950s, this cash-only fruit stand allows visitors to pick their own berries and tomatoes during their U-pick events. However, it is only open from November through mid-April and is closed on Sundays as well as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day, so be sure to plan ahead. It is well worth the wait in the long lines for their cinnamon rolls, shakes, and other exquisite treats.

Stop by the Ancient Spanish Monastery

Technically, it’s in North Miami Beach, but it’s worth the trek to get a glimpse of the Ancient Spanish Monastery. Originally constructed starting in 1133 AD and completed in 1141 AD in northern Spain, this historic building was taken apart stone by stone and sent to the United States after purchase in 1925 by William Randolph Hearst. Today, it stands as a unique destination to indulge in the rich architecture and history. The guided tour is well worth it!

Enjoy Sun and Recreation at Homestead Bayfront Park

No trip to South Florida could ever be complete without basking in the glorious sunshine. Homestead Bayfront Park gives you the perfect way to indulge in recreational activities including fishing, sailing, kayaking, and riding jet skis. Of course, there’s no rule that says you can’t simply lay out on a towel, close your eyes, and soak up the bounty of vitamin D.
